So I found this video just by chance yesterday.   

Something about it just strikes a chord with me.  I think it’s the way it shows from all over the world coming together to dance without a care.   It reminds me of the fact that although we have our differences, deep down we’re all the same.  

This video provides an escape from all that is bad with the world.   It’s 4 and a half minutes of people transcending the barriers of geography, violence, wealth, class to dance like idiots.

I love it.

I’m watching Scream (1996) again.   Perhaps not the best movie of its time, but 12 years later it still resonates with me.   It just ticks a lot of boxes.   The references to teen-horrors are great, the irony fantastic, there are some great bits of humour as well.   And deep down, it’s just a great scary movie.

This got me to thinking, what movies really stand-out?

Here is the list of the top grossing movies by year.   I’ve highlighted my favourites, really makes some years stand out.  I mean, 2004, come’on, wtf?   What did you have for me, really?
